Where do I even start?
My birth?
The first time I scribbled something with a crayon?
My weird obsession with drawing hands in middle school?
I don't know, guys. I guess I will arbitrarily tell you an art story:
The first time I ever found myself feeling truly passionate about art was probably in the first grade. My teacher kept an art station set up in the corner of the crassroom. It was pretty sweet. It had paints, easels, and painting aprons sized for children.
Sized for me.
I used to look forward to school everyday because of that! Putting on that apron and painting on that easel made me feel like Van Gogh's great-great-great granddaughter. Art was my destiny, you guys.
My destiny.
Then, as expected, I grew older, and there were moments when my desire to paint faded while I fixated on some random new passion. But even if those passions also faded, art was always there for me. So when I finally decided to commit to college, I got my Associates of the Arts degree in 2015. Then I pursued my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Alaska Anchorage.
I suppose you could say that I have always been passionate about art.
Thank you for reading my monologue about myself, and I really look forward to teaching some techniques and basics about painting at our upcoming Paint Sessions at Ginger Snap Ink. I also look forward to learning to tattoo in the future and potentially tattooing some of you!
